Today there were 5-10 blasts with 70-100 victims in Jaipur , the home town of our team members in India. At our office we were so surprised and thought that our colleagues were talking about some ‘electronical’ blasts or attacks. But slowly the internet showed the news and we tried to reach our people. Luckily the internet connections were not too overloaded, as there was no way to contact our colleagues through the phone lines.
There were some signs that our colleagues were afraid that we from the Dutch side would consider Jaipur to be less safe because all of this. But I see it as my responsibility to show our Jaipur team that we are committed to support them, as they are one of us! So I wrote this e-mail to my fellow team members in Jaipur:
My dear Jaipur team members,
With the situations in Jaipur today I can probably say that we here in NL were very surprised to hear this. We tried to call you to see if you all are well, but probably the mobile networks are (logically) overloaded. In the assumption that this is a terrorist attack we would like to share with you all our sympathies.
Such attacks are always an attack on all mankind, all of us who try work together to achieve more success and prosperity. Too bad that in such a world like ours, where everyone is actually so closeby, that narrow minded people still can’t see the collaboration and constructive discussions. It’s a shame how some people think they have the right to destroy what so many people put efforts in to build.
To show another voice, another way, we at Componence are committed to work together with you, the people of Jaipur! We will show all those narrow minded people that through international collaboration good things can be better achieved, rather than to destroy precious human lives and cultures. Together will will contribute in anyway we can to bring more prosperity to the future for the people in Jaipur. If there are any ideas to help the victims or to help people understand that we are against such actions, then please convey them to me and I’ll do my best to provide you support for such initiatives.
I hope that the cultural heritage of Jaipur can be saved and I always believe that there is a bright side of things. Now we know that Jaipur will be even more safe as such things are not likely to happen again in the same city in the nearest periods. So if we want a safe place to go for our vacation, Jaipur is not a bad choice 😉
Keep strength and have faith in the good of people!
Doing good for people, a serious thing!
The last sentence might sound soft, but personally I have always believed in doing good would deliver me good. If people would more focus on doing more good for each other and more good for others, and would stop thinking so much just for themselves, the world would be a lot better place. Personally I have the luck to have well spirited people in my teams and will continue as long as I can to do good for society with all my fellow Componence team members, while making a nice buck for us all.
